Nominator's project description
| Professor Henryk Wozniakowski influenced many fields of mathematics, theoretical computer science, and computational physics. He created a field that is called "Information-Based Complexity'' or "Complexity Theory for Continuous Problems''. He studied the computation of integrals, the solution of differential equations, and recently also quantum computers. Since almost 15 years Professor Wozniakowski studies the curse of dimension: Which high dimensional problems can be solved on a computer? Also during his time in Jena, Professor Wozniakowski will work on the curse of dimension, together with Erich Novak. |
